I'm doing a noah's ark cake. I don't want to do a shaped cake. What I want to do is a two tiered cake with a ark made from fondant on the top. I've already started the animals and they are turning out really cute, but when I tried to model a boat it was a disaster. Has anyway made an ark like boat out of fondant or gumpaste, or does anyone have any ideas??? Please help.

Here is an idea. I don't know if it will work or not, but try making a template of your ark with paper. Once that is done, mold clay/play-doh to be the interior of the ark. Then, roll your fondant and place on top of wax paper. Place that on the mold. That is an idea.
