I cant help much, but there is one question I can answer! icon_biggrin.gif You wont want to put your fondant in the fridge unless necessary...(your filling needs to be refrigerated or something). When you take it out of the fridge, the fondant will sweat leaving you with water spots. Some people have done it, but set it infront of a fan for a couple hours as to evaporate the water faster...hope that helps ya!!

If your fondant it cracking, you can add a little more crisco to it before placing it on the cake. I have no idea about if it cracks after you've put it on the cake! icon_biggrin.gif

You can make your cakes on Thrusday, if you need them for saturday. Bake the cakes, let them rest for 15, unmold, and to avoid loosing humidity, I put them back in the mold and cover with plastic wrap. The day I am going to cover them I take them out of the mold I pult the base and cover the cakes. I hope this is clear, if not tell me. In my pictures you can see a chocolate cake with a face, I dont remember the name, and it is done with fondant and painted with gel icing color mixed with vodka, rum. YOu have to let dry the piece of fondant in which are you going to paint, 1 cm wide, for 3 days and them transfer the design, delign with black marker and paint, then when ready transfer to the cake. It is better if you dont put the cake covered with fondant in the frid¡ge it will get moist. Grace

You can bake the cakes now and freeze them - wrap in plastic wrap and then thaw on counter with wrap on for the day you will decorate. Freezing is a great time saver!

You could crumb coat 2 days in advance. If you use regular BC, you could leave it out. Otherwise, refridgerate until you put the MMF on.

I just dont want anything to mess up but I wont have time to do both the day of party and also I will being doing these at night so my twins dont see them also....or they will never get done.
