I was just making gumpaste fowers for the fist time and everything was going great until I had to use the veining tool on the petals. I rolled the tool alont the edges of the petals but nothing happened. If I pressed too hard, the end of the tool would dig into the paste and tear it. Granted, I have cheap tools but you'd think they'd work!

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to using a veining tool? TIA

What kind of veining tool is it? The really cheap ones are useless in my opinion. I have a few from Orchards and they are amazingly awful icon_lol.gif

Besically you roll the pointed end over the petals, pressing gently.

That's what I was doing. Must be the crappy tool then. Thanks!
