There are plenty of forums out here on CC that instruct on how to construct a topsy turvy cake. They are quite easy to find, just type it into the search box.

http://www.cakecentral.com/article1-Instructions-For-Building-A-Whimsical-Tilted-Cake.html

here you go this is the instructions I used to make this cake........it works wonderfully and is super easy....I didn't have the hidden pillars so I just used regular ol' dowels and cake boards but it worked fabulously.....oh and I used one central dowel because the cake travelled fully assembled hope that helps

I was wondering how you use the wooden dowels and cake boards ? And why do they cut a hole in the top of the cakes?

topsy turby huh, it's been my experience that topsy turby's are really time consuming and so I hope you are getting well compensated...

the online instructions at cake central are really good...

As far as cake boards and dowels go, each cake board is used to seperate the tiers, the dowels are used as supports so that the weight of the tiers does not cave into the bottom base cake. Check out CC's Topsy Turby's instructions, that will give you step by step instructions...

I checked out the instructions and was wondering if you can use buttercream icing on one of these cakes. It looks like they use fondant on them. The person who wants it would really rather have buttercream.

I used the instructions here on CC for my topsy-turvy cake, also using dowels and cake boards. I iced mine with buttercream and used fondant accents. Good luck!

The one listed here on CC is really helpful. I used it for my first one.
