My friend recently became engaged, and asked me to do her wedding cake. I made sure that she remembered I am not licensed, and told her she may want to check with her reception hall because some will not accept any "unlicensed" food/cake. I would hate to get there on her wedding day and not be able to deliver the cake!

Well, the bride got back to me and said she cheked with the Reception place and they are OK with that. She still wants me to make it. At least I didi the right thing. Thanks to all of you.

momvarden that is a gorgeous cake!!! tho it does look a little bit like the bride just *poofed* away while relaxing lol

I always tell my customers I don't have a license. Some of the hotels will not let you in without one. I have had to turn down cakes because of this. I had to turn down about 3 wedding cakes in 2 years.

Definetely tell because the venue may check if you're licensed or not... you should have her check with the venue if they care or not if a licensed baker makes the cake... I have a LOT of them like that around here so I can't do cakes for 90% of the venues in my town... REALLY stinks... I would hate to have it all made and then bring it there and they won't let you in... the bride would have no cake!
