You will get a kick out of this reply. My Son, a sculpture major at UTSA, had to come up with a sculpture. He bought a pig's head and disected it and pickled all of the parts. He boiled the head until just the skull was left and built beautiful shelves to place all of the bottles and the skull in the middle! As a LOVING Mother I praised him for his efforts and thought it would pass. He was invited to enter it into an art show and now is expanding into other animals/reptiles. He is talking a a snake farm this week to find a dead snake! HELP! Good Luck and if you have any problems tell them to contact my Son! According to my pocket book he is suppose to know what art is!
It's beautiful and stunning! I hope you win!
Here is the update.......
Ninygo didn't win anything special, but nobody knew she was cake! I asked for a private critique with the judges and they judged her as ceramic. They had no clue about the material and told me they missed the mark on this one!!!!!
I also had some communication with the art council executive director this week and she sent me an email: [I have to share a personal story with you. I have a special place in my heart for your Artist Doll - she was my 7th grade sons very favorite piece in the IMAGE Art Show this year. On Sunday he was here with me during the show and he told everyone about her and that she was made of cake and fondant and then hed finish up by saying and if you get very close to her you can even smell the sugar! So they would all lean in and sure enough theyd smell the sugar. But what really happened is that then they would look at her close-up and they were all very impressed! It was wonderful because not only did your work of art get highlighted but my son was just so enthralled by her. He even made me make a do not touch sign for her and he placed it lovingly himself to protect her.
And as a mother, let me say THANKS! I just hadnt seen that kind of interest and affection for a work of art from my little guy before and it just warmed my heart.]
Isn't that absolutely lovely story?
Out of the mouth of babes! I think you have received the highest form of flattery from that little boy and his mother! The judges really did miss their mark on that one! Fantastic art!
Congratulations!! You must feel so good. We are very proud of you! ![]()
