If you are making your fondant roses tonight in class, then you will need to add gum-tex to any new fondant that you have if you want to use it for making the roses. Is that what you need?

no, tonights class is for making the square ribbon cake in the book...with the pink bow...so I needed to know if I put in the gumtex in the wilton fondant or not??? Im making the flowers on the cake, the center dots, and the ribbons and also covering the cake with it.....
I also have to color my fondant to whatever color I want the ribbon....

For my class we added gum tex just to the fondant to the one that we were gonna used for the bow. that means just to the pink one.
Hope this help.

Okay, I'm slow! icon_lol.gif The fondant needed to cover your cake, make the blossoms, and the blossom centers do not need gum text--just the fondant straight out of the box. The fondant needed for the bow, ribbon, streamers and curli-cues should be made out of the pink fondant that had the gum-tex added that you should have made in your first night of class.

When I took the course 3 class 2 months ago we had to put the gum tex in the fodant for the package cake and then what you had left over you could use to make your roses out of. My instuctor told me the gum tex is to make it harden faster.
