I made two batches for a cake I will be doing this saturday. I made it Monday and I just looked at it in the fridge, it's obviously not as soft and I know I need to "re-whip" it before I use it but should I let it get to room temp. first too? I thought maybe that would get it back to it's softer stage.

Thanks!

I would definitely allow it to come to room temp before re-whipping it.

I wouldn't re-whip it because that'll add too much air into it, and you'll have a lot of air bubbles when you go to smooth it out. Let it come to room temp and then use your paddle for about 5 minutes on slow speed and that will smooth and soften it up.
