Happy Pre-Holidays Y'all,

How long can sealed Antonios icing set out on the counter unused?

I can't believe it didn't get put into the freezer. I found it on top of the freezer. It is about 10 days old, has been sealed very well and looks ok. I just don't know if it is safe for consumption any more.

Can/will anyone help me?

Thank you!!!

sometimes the top of a fridge or freezer can get pretty warm (older ones especially) I dont know for sure but i would dump it. Plus the eg whites and all. But then again sugar is a preservative. I'm no help at all am i LOL
I guess this is just a bump!

I would think it would be fine considering you put it on cookies and it doesn't go bad on the cookies.

Yeah, but whose cookies last 10 days? (Not in my house!) I know I'm not any help, but it's late and I'm punchy!

I believe on her totorial it states you can leave it out on the counter for easily a month.... I think it should be ok... Maybe try some, see how it tastes thumbs_up.gif

I have asked antonia (Helen) and she said she has kept it in an airtight container on the counter for up to a month. You just have to remix it for the full 10 minutes before using again. I have done this several times and it looks and tastes great. The egg whites in the meringue powder are dried and sit in the cabinet for a long time so I wouldn't worry too much about that aspect.

I am having a real stuck on stupid week--Happens when the kids are sick.

Thank you all for reminding me to read the reciept icon_surprised.gif . There was the answer in black and white. Icing can be kept at room temp. in an air sealed container for literally weeks. Lucky for me the freezer is in the garage and it is fairly cool.

Thanks to all of you that replied so quickly. I do appreciate all of you and CC.
