I hear people talking about using satin icing or satin ice. Is this an icing or type of fondant? Where can it be bought? I use buttercream and fondant. I tried making my own fondant but it doesn't turn out right. Wilton fondant is lousy (as we know), can it be flavored? Thanks in advance!

Using the "search" feature to search for "Satin Ice" would give you hours upon hours of reading! icon_smile.gif

Pour a cup of coffee and settle in to do some reading!

Yes, Wilton fondant can be flavored, but once you try Satin Ice, or Pettinice, or any other yummy homemade fondant recipes, you'll never go back to Wilton.

I just ordered Satin Ice for the first time and received it today (I got it off of ebay for a GREAT deal!) I tasted a bit of it and it is SO good! I can't wait to do a cake with it icon_smile.gif Not sure on how it works yet but I know it tastes way better than MMF or Wilton's...

Oh, man, you are going to LOVE how it feels, how it rolls out, and how it tastes when you get it with a bite of cake, icing, and filling. It really is wonderful stuff.
