Hi guys
Ive never made a cake for anyone but friends and family
but after spending the last 3 months reading cc I think I might want to
I was wondering
I live in a very city area in south florida- theres really no such things as rural down here anymore.
anyway.
I have chickens that I keep for fresh eggs (yes I know I said I live in the city- which I do- but I live on a 'weird' 2 mile dead end road where everyone is still 'agriculturally zoned' because the county kinda forgot about us for 20 yrs )
anyway

so all my cakes are made w/ eggs from organic chickens ( no hormones, no pesticides anywhere on the property, they eat all kinds of organic veggies, fruits etc and they free roam at least 3 days a week), I use organic flour and eggs.

Does anyone here charge more for cakes that use organic ingredients??

I know the market down here sustains the organic wave cause every supermarket down here as whole isles and refrigerators that are all organic

just wondering

It really depends on whether are paying higher prices for your organic ingredients or not.

If I were to convert my entire cake-kitchen into organic ingredients, the price would be higher, since it is so expensive.
So I don't - yet.

I only sell cakes made from organic stuff simply because I believe that not spraying the world in toxic chemicals is a good idea. My cakes are pricey anyway, but not because of the ingredients. It's hard to advertise them as 'organic' as the colourings on the fondant aren't - so I do it for my peace of mind rather than to make more money.
