Okay, I heard there was going to be a Day of Sharing (DOS) in Wichita in October (correct me please if I go that wrong)? That's almost 3 hours drive for me but I'd sure love to try and attend. Who is going?? Come on Kansas, Nebraska and whoever else!

Hi! I'm in Indiana for now, but grew up in Hutchinson, and my mom is still in Wichita. I would love to come--but doubt I can get that far before Christmas. But I want to stay in the loop, too! (And what is a Day of Sharing? Sounds fun!)

A friend of mine from out of town said that she went to a day of sharing, and everyone just brought their portfolios, and tackle boxes, and the person in charge shared some tips and ideas. Then everyone sat around and talked about ideas, showed their portfolios, exchaged cards and just got to know each other, so in the future they could call on one another for ides and sharing stuff.

I guess that's what all sharing days are like, but I'm not sure. I'd love it if that's what it is! Yay for Indiana!! We'll just get all the midwesterners together!! The more, the merrier I always say!!

All I've heard is that it's supposed to be in Wichita on Sunday, October 14th, and they usually run from around 9:00 am - 4-5:00 pm. That's not too far away now so I hope someone can find out about this soon. I' d sure like to go. It's a 3 hour drive for me from Richmond, KS.

What!! I didn't know about this either! I would've drove!!! But, I have a big bday that weekend that I am making a cake for and attending a party! I hate being busy!!!!

Well I just went to the ICES web site and there's nothing there about this. I feel like I'm spreading a rumor here. Noone seems to know anything about it and I have no clue how to find out/confirm. I also don't know if you have to be an ICES member to go if they put these on. Anyone?

I'm in Wichita! I'd love to go to this but don't know if I could spend all day. I don't belong to any clubs and am not professional, so am pretty isolated except for CC (thank goodness for CC )

That would be great! I may stop in at our local specialty cake supply store (our one and only) and see if they know anything about a scheduled gathering.

Lindakbh, are you talking about "Cake Stuff"? I've only been to that store once, but plan on going back soon. They are great! I hope you can check with them. Maybe, since they're in Wichita, they'll know something. If you do, let us know. I haven't heard anything either!

Okay, time is running out here. I'm willing to drive three freakin (pardon my french) hours to get in on something someplace with other cake decorators. I've heard about cake clubs in KC but never gotten any info or invites ( I know, boo hoo poor me) so I'm out here ALL alone. I guess if something isn't going to get organized by ICES or whoever maybe we could try and put something together ourselves. Anyone in that area got any ideas of what we could do? There seems to be quite a few of you out in the general Wichita area, and some of us who aren't but would drive some to attend. Seems like there ought to be a church someplace where we could get together. We wouldn't need to use an oven, just have tables and chairs and sinks to clean up. What do you all think? Meet for a morning session, break for lunch and meet again in the afternoon. I'd even get a room and do it again the next daaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!! Waaaaaa!!!!!! LOL LOL LOL

Im sorry to respond so late (life has been hectic this week). Yes, it is Cake Stuff that I was talking about. They are so nice and are always willing to give advice. Unfortunately I didnt make it over yesterday and they are closed today. Ill call them tomorrow. Will post what I find out.
