BYW your first cake wasn't awful.....you just made mistakes but you fixed them so YEA for you!!
I do not have a steady hand so I'm sad to say stenciling will never be in a future!! (bo-hoo-hooo)
Again, your cake looks absolutly BEAUTIFUL!!!

I'm wondering how long the red scrolls were on the fondant? Did you have any trouble with them bleeding? According to the picture there was none but I'm wondering about up close. If not then I'll know to use RI from now on with the colors that tend to bleed.
The RI didn't bleed into the fondant at all (thank God.. couldnt've handled any more problems with it). My only complaint with the RI is the colour faded, even with the cake being covered from any sunlight. I had it hidden in a closet, with tin foil over it. It didn't fade much, but just enough that I fouond the colour looked kinda old. Luckily it still matched the ribbon and it didn't look noticeable.. just to my critical eye ![]()
Thanks again for all the kind words ![]()
Royal will do that, It does the exact opposite of buttercream in the ol color dept. It has nothing to do with the light hun. It's just that it gets a dusty haze to it when it dries because of the eggwhites in it. Buttercream becomes more transparent as it gets older but RI gets more opaque. That's another reason peeps add MP to their buttercream, a bonus I bet lotsa peeps din't realize but the MP helps with the opacity of the bc. and with crusting.
Awesome job!! Looks like a winner to me! Now, where's that drink you mentioned? ![]()
