I'm excited to start up my own small business, but I have been a little tentative only because of my own insecurities. So, do you guys *honestly* think that this cake looks professional? Can I do this?

Thanks for the votes! The reason I did a poll because I felt people could be more honest anonymously and so far, so good. I'm feeling a lot better!

I've seen cakes that were suppose to be done by professionals (particularly my daughter's Baptism cake last Nov., my other two children's Communion cake this May, and my hubby's Goddaughter's Baptism cake this past June) and none of them were even half as nice as yours. (Wish I could post the photos to show you. If I had the time I should have made them myself!) Anyway, I say "Go for it!"

You know, I've been told I am my worst critic.. My husband tells me all the time.. You need your own bakery.. I'm thinking, Really? Do people see me as to be that good? WOW.. icon_surprised.gif

I've very shocked that someone would have voted no on that cake.

I think you did a great job. It's nicer then some of the cakes I've seen from "professional" bakers.

Hi Ishi, have you taken any classes? Your cakes are BEAUTIFUL. If you haven't maybe you should try the Wilton 3 course classes (not that you really need to), only because it helps build confidence. I always wanted to be a cake decorator but thought "My cakes are never going to be perfect or good enough" And with those insecurities I could never charge people for cakes. BUT THEN i took the classes and I am very confident in myself. And your cake is DEFINITELY Professional Quality. I agree. Go for it! you obviously have talent.

I really appreciate all the support I've gotten from my fellow cake-makers on this site! I feel much more confident now and I better get ready because I already have 5 cake orders for this month! Wish me luck! I think I'm ready for this!!!
