I just purchased some nutella for the first time. do you think will go good with a butter pecan cake?
TIA
Nikki
I went to publix yesterday for milk and eggs and i saw a coupon for $1.00 off 1 jar of Nutella. So of course i had to get it. I have a love/hate relationship with nutella. I HATE that i LOVE it so much!
I use Nutella with bread, toast, buttercreams, ice-cream sundaes, especially banana, and (my favourite) I make hot chocolates with it (with a drop of Amaretto and cream, yum) - in fact you can't go wrong with Nutella!
Shame it doesn't dissolve well with cold liquids, but I suppose you could heat a small amount of the liquid and mix it before adding the remainder ![]()
Can you tell I like it? A LOT, lol!
I grew up on nutella in Italy
you want to try something great- make some fresh croissants (the tube kind is perfect) when they come out of the oven and while they are still nice and warm- cut it in half-slap some nutella in there - thats heaven
that butter pecan cake will be heavenly- trust me.
I even make cookies stuffed with nutella
Thanks for the information. I did try it this morning with peanut butter on toast. It was REALLY good.
Should I just use it as a filling by itself or mix it with BC? My biggest fear is the 2 nut flavors conflicting.
NUTELLA ROCKS! ![]()
I believe that it is better than peanut butter. You get the best of both worlds; chocolate and nuts!
I use it in my mousse filling and my clients rave about it.
I also make Nutella Raviolis and my kids want that for dessert all the time.
Take wonton wrappers, fill them with a teaspoon of nutella, seal the wrapper, fry it in canola oil, remove and drain, then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream and VOILA, you have one of the greatest desserts ever! ![]()
I bought a jar of a chocolate hazlenut spread last week. The brand was Choceur, which isn't as well known at Nutella. I bought it because it was A LOT cheaper than Nutella, but it was just as delicious! They had one called Chocolate DUO Hazelnut Spread, which is chocolate and white chocolate swirled. I only bought one jar, but I will definitley be going back this week to stock up. I used it between shortbread cookies and it was to die for! Although, we ate most of it by spoon before it made it to the cookies.
Nutella is a staple in my world it goes on everthing. When we went to Europe they put it on everything. Croissant, on crepes you buy on the street, it's a favorite spread.
I grew up on the stuff, I love it. My kids do too. Costco has it 2 huge jars at a time.
Good Luck.
I was just thinking that as it seems lots of us like Nutella, stands to reason others do - so I googled Nutella recipes. So many responses, I haven't even got past the first link:

Oooooo, this may have been a big mistake ![]()

I used the recipe on CC for nutella cake balls, It was fantastic and so simple. thanks for all the great ideas on this thread, I love the stuff. I did make a mistake when I bought it though, I did not use the whole jar and I put the rest in the fridge. It was hard as a rock and it says not to microwave it on the jar. I should have read the jar and not refrigerated it, but I always put a jar I open in the fridge.. I have learned my lesson. Has anyone ever tried the milky way spread. It was located in my grocery store right next to the nutella, I am curious if it is as good.
