I think you always get a cleaner, sharper cut with metal cutters. Same for cutting gumpaste flowers.

I agree with Shirley. Cleaner lines with metal. thumbs_up.gif

Metal for cleaner cuts...plastic are easier to clean.

Metal for sure. They give a cleaner cut.

I agree with the metal, although I also have tons of plastic due to the price. The copper are my favorites, but 13.00 a piece come on now. icon_cry.gif

I like the metal, because yes, they are usually sharper/cleaner cutting.

But I also like some plastic ones because they keep their shape perfectly over time whether dropped or shut in a drawer that's too full of other cutters! icon_redface.gif

The one thing I DON'T like about the plastic ones (sold by Wilton especially!) is the plastic strip they put across the top of them...so I can't use doughs that are any thicker than my cutter. icon_mad.gif

I also don't much like the plastic ones that make impressions/patterns on the dough as well. The cookies are always too thin and I prefer to make my own designs instead of the cutter making them for me. thumbsdown.gif
