Im sorry..but I am a Christmas FREAK...I love it...there is just 4 months and I have my kids shopping DONE
(Except for the money we give them to buy the stuff WE don't wanna
) But I wondered if anybody gets as excited as I do? Or do I need more counseling ? LOL ANYWAYS my DH is really REALLY REALLY bad at buying gifts (which I ask him NOT to but he does anyways) So this year he said he is giving me MONEY YIPPEE!!!!! I am making my list already and have checked out many sites.....Im thinking Im gonna get a edible image machine and some other good stuff....What do you all really want OR need for Christmas...and am I the only one who has a DH that SUCKS badly at buying you gifts? I hate to put that on here but because this NEVER happens to ME I am sooooo excited that I can't contain myself...Of course if this doesn't happen and he is just blowing smoke up my fruity patootie then Im gonna be so

My daughter in law is a Christmas LOVER. She loves the decorating part of it the most but shopping too.
I LOVE the shopping part of it.
I have bought my own Christmas presents since I can remember. My husband hates to shop. I buy, wrap and act surprised every year. It is so fun and the family knows about it so they laugh with me.
I have MY shopping all done already.
I'm getting a KA Artisan Stand Mixer, I think about 15 Wilton character cake pans and the square and round sets along with odds and ends of goodies for cake decorating like tip sets, disposable bags etc. ![]()
YEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Susie
Well, having already bought all of those other pans I don't think I want to buy more. I've heard good things about the Magic Line but I got the best ones that Wilton makes which is the Performance ones.
I just got a bunch of the LARGE tips and the set I got is this:
The ultimate set--with tips for virtually any technique. Includes 52 metal decorating tips: #1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 22, 24, 27, 30, 31, 32, 42, 45, 46, 47, 48, 54, 59, 61, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 73, 74, 78, 96, 97, 98, 101, 102, 103, 104, 106, 108, 109, 123, 124, 129, 134, 136, 195, 199, and 2C; two standard tip couplers, two 1 1/4 in. flower nails No. 9; plastic tipsaver case.
What do you want beside the image machine?????????
Susie
I haven't given much thought to xmas, as it is sooooooooo hot around here. You got me thinking though, I have 4 sons, 3 DIL, 11 grandkids, 1 mother, 1 sister, 7 niece/nephew, 1 very good friend that I ususally get gifts for. This year, grandkids are getting some cash, mother and sister are getting some cash...thats it gonna make it simple. My next to youngest son will get some gifts as he is Down Syndrome and lives at home with me, bless his heart, he loves xmas and is the only reason I bother with a tree at all. My adult children have everything they need, and grandkids have more than they need and I am tired of beating myself up every year trying to buy gifts that are appropriate. I will most likely take a name or two from the organizations that need someone to give a gift for the less fortunate. Cookies and candy for all others. ![]()
I haven't started buying for our boys yet, but I have started buying Toy's R Us gift cards to do the shopping later. I start getting them in August, and by the time I'm ready to shop, I have all of my money put away already. Toy's R Us gift cards can't be spent on anything else, so it works for us. DH and I don't buy each other gifts...we buy one large thing that we both want for the house. We've been married 9 years, and still don't have our house furinished totally the way we want. Last year we bought a new bed, year before an entertainment armoire, who knows this year. We don't buy much for extended family since there are so many, but let the boys buy for grandparents.
well my dh and I don't have any kids so most of the shopping is for the nieces and nephew .. we already have two done, just need to finish up the other two ... then of course we have an adult gift swap and we haven't drawn out the names for that yet so no early shopping ... this is the first year that I will be able to go out the day after thanksgiving and join the chaos since I don't have a job anymore and Im really excited about that .. the only down fall since I don't have a job anymore is trying to buy dh's christmas gifts ... he is a great shopper and I love everything he picks up for me ... hes got an amazing memory and something that I fell in love with eight months before christmas is usually sitting under the tree christmas morning!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas! I drive hubby nuts (he's some what of a scrooge). We get our tree the day after Thanksgiving. We take all day to find the perfect tree..I'm not kidding...all day! Last year we went to 2 farms and spent 8 hours until we found one just right! And we have three young kids (last year they would have been 5, 4, and 10 months) who we drag along with us! It's so fun!! The next day we decorate the tree and then we start on the house...it takes me about a week to get every thing decorated. I put up so many Christmas lights that we don't need to turn on our regular lights
It's not too over the top to where it looks ugly/guady (sp?), though!
As for shopping, we do ours in October. I posted this somewhere yesterday. We take one day and do all the kids shopping. I have them make up their lists and then I make a master list. I go online, look up the prices of what they want so I know what's cheapest where. It's done in that one day. I save all my reciepts and if anything goes on sell between Oct and Christmas I go in for a price adjustment. I take the kids shopping for Dad, he takes them for me, and we take them one day to shop for each other. As for family gifts, we usually do a craft. Last year we made ornaments for everyone. And of course, everyone gets a bnch of cookies from us.
As for Christmas baking....we make lots of stuff. Usually bake every day for a week or two. The kids help with everything.
My wish list?! Digital camera (so I can post some pictures here), my 40+ rolls of 35mm film developed, some photo albums (notice a theme here?)...and some baking supplies. More tips, couplers, bags...don't have a lot so anything would be great. More cookie cutters.
My favorite part of Christmas though is Christmas Eve Mass. There's something so comforting about that evening.
Well, I've written a book
Get me talking about Christmas...Jodie
I mostly drive my co-workers crazy because I starte to panic if my Christmas shopping is not done by end of August. They think I am nuts. I keep an excel spreadsheet so I can track what has been purchased for each person so I don't forget by the time Christmas rolls around.
I too LOVE christmas. I drive everyone nuts around me, but I dont care.
I have started my shopping list for everyone else, I gave my DBF the list of jewelry that I want so if he doesnt catch my hints (which include the massage flyer with the massage I want highlited and directions to the place to get me the gift certificate!! I tried this last year, didn't work) he always gets me a piece of jewelry!
I too am a Christmas FREAK! I love it! My house looks like a Christmas Exlosion the day after Thanksgiving. I don't shop, I decorate. My DH is a bit of a scrooge and I don't blame him. Tigether we have 6 children. 2 are grown, one lives with us and the last 3 live in England. So we're always missing the three at Christmas and it depresses him. He gets through and only I know he's in the dumps. He shows the kids a happy face and we get through it. It just doesn't feel complete to him. Hopefully one day we'll have all six under one roof. I start buying around the first week of August. I hate waiting til the last minute. Seems like popular items are picked over or gone. I don't want to have to LOOK for anything. My find this year was a Wii. My san saved his money all year, Birthday and all for one and we could never find one for him. I refused to let him buy one off Ebay because of the inflated prices. I told him we would eventually find one. He still has all his $$ and low and behold I was at Wally Martinez last week and there shining like a becon was one Wii. I snatched that booger up! We're giving it to him and he can buy games with his saved allowance. He's easy to please and will be over the moon with his wii. I still need to get him some pj's as that is tradition in our family. Everyone gets a new pair of pj's to open on Christmas Eve, we all look forward to our jammies! The other 5 like to get money so that's an easy fix! PJ's and $$$. My Christmas list. . .Pasta roller for KA, square magic lines pans, a new turntable, better gumpaste tools, an extra bowl for KA. . . I'm sure I'll think of something else soon. Thank heavens my Bday is in Novemeber I'm bound to get something I asked for!
Elle
I LOVE Christmas! My mom & grandma are Christmas nuts as well! Who doesn't love it!?! I just love the whole feeling on Christmas morning - giving everyone their gifts, opening your gifts - there's nothing like it!
This year I'd really love a refurbished Kitchenaid 6 qt & a set of the magic line pans....
....yes.... I'm 16 ![]()
I haven't even started thinking about Christmas yet! But, my DD's 4th birthday is in 4 weeks and I haven't a clue what to get her - she wants every toy that is advertised on TV!
Plus, we're going on holiday (our first in 5 years) in 2 weeks and only get back two days before her birthday (I wonder if she'd like some Duty Free!
)
Kelly
I refuse to get anymore video game systems, We have the playstation 1, 2 and game cube and we don't have the room for anymore!! (awahhahahahha I HATE THEM LOL) And I am not going to spend 500 bucks on the new playstation 3 that is just ridiculous. If mine want to save their money and buy it theirselves then that's fine I guess, just wish they'd save their money (YEAH RIGHT). If they want to buy a game with the cash they get then that's fine, but I won't be buying anymore! ANd found out something very interesting....they ruin your TV picture. ![]()

I too LOVE CHRISTMAS. I try to get all my shopping done before the 1st of Dec. We usually start to decorate the day after Thanksgiving. I made my own tree skirt and every year I have my DS and DD put their hand prints on it in gold paint and a homemade felt ornament in the middle with the date on it. As far as my kids, DS wants a guitar and DD wants a tempurpedic mattress (she's 7). Me, I don't care what I get...I would rather buy than get.
I didn't rad everything as I'm kinda doped up on painkillers, but I will go ahead and confess that I have been completely finished with my holiday shopping since.... July 7th. Seriously.
My list has been done for a couple of months. I'm close to being done with my shopping.
I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! I still wake up and get everyone else up at daylight to start the day off!! ![]()
I have been shopping all year, my hope is to be done December1st. I have bought several things and I know what I want to get several people.
My sister is getting a set of cookware. I am just waiting to find a awesome deal. I want a 12+ set of anodized cookware. Any suggestions?
My grandmother is getting a wrought iron stand with the two Longaberger baskets sitting on it. My BF's mother is getting a red Longaberger cake basket.
My mother is getting a couple new skillets, and some new panites and bras!! She never buys herself anything and everyone should get pretty new panties! ![]()
My sister and I are spilting the cost of some seat covers for my dad's truck! Those buggers are costing $175.00!!
Me-my wish list includes a Viking Stand mixer, Longaberger on the go blue backpack, and I don't know maybe a upgrade on my ring?? ![]()
I read on another post someone else always does pj's! We do too! My sister and I always get new pjs and in our stocking we get essentials like do, toothbrush, panties, and then some fun things!
Merry-early-Christmas!!
I laughed when I saw this thread - I was just telling my husband I can't wait for Christmas!!! It's never too early for me to hear the carols in the stores
. We live in Tampa, so we have no snow, but the people really make up for it with events and decorating and excitement!!
