I am 24, will be 25 next march.
I have been decorating consistently for the last 6 1/2 years. Worked in a supermarket bakery for 2 1/2 of those years in the middle and the rest of the time been doing it on my own at home.
But I decorated my first cake for my 8th birthday. It was the bear pan by wilton and my aunt taught me how to do all those stars. Since 8 I helped my aunt decorate cakes periodically for family events. I have been told that decorating skipped a few generations in the family b/c my Great grandma use to decorate and had taken the wilton classes to do all of her 5 kids birthday cakes and then her grandkids (unfortunately she passed away when I was only 2 years old)
I'm 34 but feel like I'm 24. I have 3 girls, ages 7, 5 and 4 who keep me feeling young. I used to feel older but was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was pregnant with my 4 year old (at age 29) and decided it was time to CHANGE that and start feeling young and alive! It worked.
I only decorate for my childrens/family and am just learning as I go thanks to everyone on here!
I turned 29 in Sept. I have been decorating for 4 years.
I am 45. I started decorating cakes about 14 years ago after taking what I thought was a Wilton Course only it turned out that the lady was not really a WMI (I didn't even get a certificate). 
I tried it on my own for a while and eventually got discouraged and sort of stopped for a while. Would do a few cakes now and then. In October of 2005 my daughter turned 18 and wanted me to decorate her a birthday cookie/cake. Well, that kind of brought the cake decorating fever back so I took a legitimate class at Michaels (Course I & II ~ got certificates to prove it LOL) and have been hooked ever since. 
I just turned 46 (EGADS) on Nov 29th. I told my highschool girlfriend that I wish I looked as young as I feel and she said "I wish I looked as good as you when I was 30!!" Boy did that put a feather in my cap 
I bumped into a customer who's sister is also a customer but had never seen me before and she said "You're my cake lady? I was expecting a fat old lady with an apron!" Guess I'm not doing too bad 
Well you are only as old as you feel right? Some days I am 70 then....some days I am 6

So true! I woke up one morning and was complaining how my shoulder hurt...I must have slept wrong I'm telling my husband and he said honey it's called O..L..D..
