I've seen a lot of them in the galleries that are different tone colors in one leaf like green, yellow and orange etc. and would like to try it. Any tips ?

I think the easiest way is to brush them with petal dusts. You can use them straight or blended or lightened with a bit of cornstarch for various color combinations.

I have made them by brushing after with colors and then adding luster if you want the sheen.

I'm by far a cake decorator I have only made 3 but I made some with mottled fondant. I found it best to put small balls of the different colors together then flatten it a bit, twist the colors to swril them some then roll it out. The more you twist and mix it the better the color pattern. I don't have an air brush so mottled was the only thing I could think of.

I've done the same thing McDuff mentioned. I made a couple multi-colored fondant leaves for a fall sheet cake I did. I made some leaves just one color, then I took what was left of each color and mixed them together, rolled flat, then cut out with cookie cutters.

I've done it both ways, by painting in different colors of luster dust and by smashing small balls of different colors together. Either way works well. I find if you roll the fondant very thin and then prop the corners on balls of aluminum foil it shapes them well. I press them in a nick lodge leaf veiner. I have some fondant maple leaves in my photos. They were white and I brushed on gold, copper and brown luster dusts.
