Thank you. I was just reading the post here on age of decorators on CC and realized I have been doing cakes for 47 years. You know the old saying about not being able to teach an old dog new tricks? Not true, I learn something new all the time because of cake decorators who are willing to share a technique or a tip on something they have discovered. I have always tried to answer questions when I can and share, because I want to see this art continue. I wasn't born with a cake bag in my hand, I learned because I had a love of cake decorating and if we don't pass that knowledge along the art dies out.
You guys are very sweet. I hope I am able to answer questions when you ask because many people have shared with me. This world of the internet is so amazing, remember I started when all we had was Mail Box News as a resource. No Wilton classes locally at that time so if you wanted to know how something was done you had to figure it out as best you could or hope upon hope that you would meet another cake decorator in your town. We did form a cake club in our area in 1963 and that helped so much. But today it is so nice to be able to click on a cake forum and know that someone on there is going to know exactly what you are asking or looking for.
