whenever I make NFSC, I refridgerate ithe extra and it comes out like yours. I usually toss it back into the mixer and add just a smidgen of flavoring to get some liquid in it and then I wait till it gets reincorporated again.

Sorry, I can't help with the extra baking powder icon_sad.gif I would suggest to bake one cookie to see how it turns out. Maybe one with alot of detail so you can see if it holds it shape well or not....

ok so i made a batch of cookies with the dough (used a spider web cutter and witch on a broom cutter). the shapes held well but the cookie was really dry and i swear i could taste flour. idk.....i don't have any more butter so i'm going to run out and get some and when i come back i think i'm going to try the rolled chocolate recipe. its like the cookie version of my chocolate kahlua cake.

You can reroll the chocolate dough a little thicker. The reason your other dough didn't work was because of the extra baking powder. I am surprised they didn't taste bitter.

Don't give up. It just takes a little practice.

If you have dowel sticks, put one on either side of the dough, under the parchment paper and use as a guide to get the right thickness for your cookies.

Deep Breath!!!!!! Cookies take some lovin' to cooperate. You have to be very accurate with measurements. Baking is like a science experiment. Even a little too much baking powder can create problems. The next thing that you have figured out on your own is not to roll them out too thin. I roll them about a 1/4 inch and don't over-bake, either. It just takes some time to find out what works for you and your oven. icon_smile.gif You can do it!! The first time I made a successful batch of tasty cookies I was hooked!

Good luck!!!! I know you can do it!

Hi: I just got done making a batch of cookies. I rolled the dough out and then put it in the frig. Once out of the frig. it soften up and I been going since then. Don't make a ball of it but roll out first. I gave two plain cookies and she loved them. I'm very happy with this cookie. Vicki0052.
