Hi everyone. I could really use some help. I hav ea cake to finish for tonight and two of my gumpaste pieces broke. I made new ones but they won't harden in time to place the way I'd like them. Does anyone have ideas to quicken the 'hardening' time of gumpaste? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Place in a cold oven with the light on, it should help it along. If you have a gas oven the pilot light should do the trick

The last time I did some gumpaste it hardened fast, but I was ready to put on my dehydrator next to the pieces to help them dry?

Anyone?

Good Luck.

I would have never thought of using the dehydrator. I'll have to dig mine out some time and try it. I'd really worry about it cracking though. My daughter makes dough crafts and dries them in it. They tend to crack alot.

I remember reading somewhere that using a dehydrator for gumpaste is not recommended. The oven method mentioned is one I have heard about before...I would try that.
