I just got a Airmaster Airbrush in July. I have never really airbrushed so I have only used it 3 times (in pratice, not on any cakes). I deciced to pull it out today and pratice but it leaks color even when I am not pulling the trigger. I have taken it apart, cleaned it and put it back together 3 times and the same thing. Please help!
Airbrushes are tricky when you take them apart... it's tough to get them back together just right, if one thing is out of place or adjustment. I know, because I just did the same thing with mine! My son however, got it back together for me, and it's fine (thank goodness!) I was ready to through it in the trash! Do you have a users manual for it? They usually have step by step instructions for disassembling. I'm sorry, I hope you can get it fixed!
so are you saying that as you hold the ab up against your paper there is a fine spray of color coming out without pulling back on the trigger??
if so, remove the back end of the airbrush, the screw and remove the needle and wipe it clean, sometimes a dirty needle will not sit in the correct place, then make sure the needle is pushed all the way forward when replacing the little screw. hopefully that should help.
I think I did this one when the thing you pull back on with your finger (can't remember the correct term for it) was in backwards. Is that possible?
Check the needle, look at the very, very tip. If it has ANY sort of hook or bent in ANY way it will do things like that. My mil's needle had the smallest of hooks at the very tip and it did exactly what you described. She had to buy a new one and now it works fine.
