The best confidence booster was when someone commented on my cake (on my friends pic on facebook) that the cake was perfect - it looked like one from that show on Food Network with Duff!! WTF? I'm not that good, but I guess people don't see much of fondant around here!!!! I will always remember that and always keep trying to get to that level!
if i ever have an opportunity with duff he is on my list with my hubby of men i can run off and have wild night with and not get into trouble along with adam sandler and mark wahlberg (oh marky mark how i remember the days of the funky bunch) he has his list too so it's all cool. so duff if you are hiding out reading this, i'm waiting and free and clear! and if mary alice reads this as she does get in on some of the posts sometimes, read it to him during a taping of the show so i can see his reaction.
I noticed the other day that he mentioned CakeCentral on his Charm City Cakes website. Duff rocks!!! I get to see him and Geof in Cleveland in November, yay! I even managed to get front row seating for his demo!!

On another note, I met Duff when he came to Aurora last spring. He signed autographs and took pictures and stuff. I told him he had to take a picture with me and pretend he likes me and he said he'd try but it might be difficult, then he gave that big goofy laugh which in turn made me laugh and every one around us was raising their eyebrows. It was our ''special moment''. LMAO
OH MAN! Wish I could go see him but of course I live in Canada and we don't get any big cake celebraties up here!
Did anyone ever find out who got to apprentice with Duff for a week? (I think it was a week) I know it wasn't me 
It stinks being here in Canada because all of the cake celebraties are in the States and you guys get to take really cool courses and such!
Other than that though, Canada's not too bad if you like the cold in the winter!

My bro worked for an airline a few years back and met Harrison Ford and said not only was he smaller than he looked on tv, he was also unfriendly. Ya just never know....

ok I'm soooooo jealous that I havent gotten to meet Duff but hes way far from California. I want to go on the cruise hes gunna be on sooooo bad but DH tells me its too much money to spend just to stalk duff the whole time I'd be on the ship. Duff really was as sweet and funny in person as he was on TV. We ask why he was there and he said "I'm here to check out the competition too" and then gave that great big laugh. I was telling him my 9 year son thinkgs he rocks and loves to watch ace of cakes with me. He thought that was so cool.
Can't say anything without talking about Warren Brown too. I talked to him a while too (& got a pic) and he was really down to earth (and really tall!!! LOL). He is like a foot talling than me.
We also met Norm Davis who was also cool. I think it is so cool that the people who are celebrities on food network are just so nice in real person.
