CC, I need some real opions here.
I am tossing around doin the Fabulous Food Show here In Cleveland.
My mom is all for it and helping me. Thinks it would be good exposure and more than likely get some of the money back for the booth rental.
I also spoke to a rep today, (understanding that it is their motive to sell space) who looked at my website and loved what she was seeing. She really was a very nice lady.
The boyfriend was encouraging yet realistic, that I may not make any money back but he will help me with whatever I want to do.
Please Help me!!!! ![]()
Should I do it, or not.

Give it a whirl. What is the worse thing that could happen??? I think an open door deserves at least walking through it a little. ![]()

It is $1250 for a 10x10 space. You are able to sell and sample items to help make up for some of the cost.
It is a great show I volunteered last year, got a chance to be in the main stage area with Paula Deen, Tyler Florance and a few others who cam through.
I attended last years show and was a bit disappointed with it. Paula Dean was the reason I went and she was great but there was not really anything else to buy! Kitchen gadgets and tons of gourmet food items are needed at the show. I think some new vendors/cake people would be great! Samples are a must though and dummy cakes to show your ability. I am hoping it is better this year and I hope to see you there!

For those of you who have done shows before where you are able to sell.
How much product to sell, do you think is reasonable to have per day for a 3 day event?
How much to sample?
According to the rep, they had about 30,000 on average come through the doors everyday.
This is a big under taking and I am scared out of my mind, because once I commit it's a done deal.

Is that the smallest booth they have?
Sometimes they can have smaller booth or maybe there are people who would want to share?
Either way like others have said, if you can pull it together, it's great exposure.
You do beautiful work, you have a really nice range of products, so you could have a small show of products to sell to get back some of the show money.
Just make sure you to talk to the people putting the show together to get the statistics of how many people show up and then come back here and ask veterans suggestions on how much inventory to have. I have seen treads about this before.
You dont want to invest too much in product and be left with too much or the other way and run out immediately.
For my vote: if I had your talent and the time I would do it. ![]()
Good Luck
