I'm a relative newbie to all of this, and I could use some help.

I am making a cake where the top will be "felt" like a poker table. I'm having a hard time finding a color I think is dark enough. The greens I've ended up with are more grass colored, and even by adding more gel, they don't get dark enough.

Should I add black to make it darker? Will that work? If so does the order matter?

Thanks in advance.

add black a little time to get the desired shade.

Also let it sit for an hour or so it will darken as it sits

As far as I know it does not matter what order you colour your icing but add dark colours in small amounts as I have found the fondant quickly changes colour when you don't want it to!
