My DH is usually a very healthy person. This year however he struggle with his health. In April he got flu and again in June (We are in S Africa, that is out winter time). He started to cough after that. Went back to the doctors about 4 times. Every time they told him a diffrent story. One said it is asthma, an other it is an infection and so on.


This morning he went back to our GP. (His glands in his neck are swollen now for about 2 weeks). Our GP sent him to the hospital for test. Telling him something is seriously wrong. After 2 hours he phoned me telling me they have find something on his one lung and they are going to do more scans before they decide what to do.


I haven't heard from him yet and it is killing me!!

Hang in there, wait and see what the results of the tests are, it may turn out to be something that can be taken care of quickly.

Thanks veejaytx. He phoned and must go and see a heart-lung specialist now, they are going to do a biopsy to see if it is cancer or not.

Can you not be there with him??? I would be pacing the floors till they wore out!!!

I do hope all turns out well.

Just try to keep your wits about yourself and try to stay as calm as you can.

Let us know what the doctors say, please.

mmdd.. believe me if I could be there I would have been. Ok... the cardiothoracic surgeon basically told him he think it is cancer. He just want to do a biopsy to see what kind.

My DH must be in hospital at 6am tomorrow. They will do the biopsy at 8am.

Hi,
I've been in healthcare since 1979 (Xray) and I have seen too many times what you and your husband are going through.
I have worries for you and your husband. Please ask questions! Your minds are not on asking questions right now but when you can get over those initial thoughts, ask questions!

My thoughts are with you Eliza. if it turns out to be cancer tell him to ask the doctor if it is aggressive or non aggressive. (There is a huge difference). Knowing that will help in decision making, trust me. {{{{Eliza and family}}}} <<< those are hugs

Thank you all. It is cancer. They are now doing tests to see how far it have spread.

We will know on Thursday what is what.
