i was just wondering about the "view uncommented" in the galleries...everytime i clicked on it, it would say that i am not authorized access to the files...do you have to have special permission?

Hello and welcome to CC. You need to go to your forum info that's on the left hand side of this page. Under Preference, click yes for Allow other members to post comments on my photos. Happy decorating icon_smile.gif

Actually, I think you do have to have permission and be one of the "gallery supporters" to see which photos have not been commented on. That's my guess...

I think what she meant is why she can't see the photos marked as uncommented
You have to be a "gallery supporter" to access the uncommented photos. You can get around that by goin to "last uploaded" and look at those that way as those are usually the ones that don't have comments yet.
In order to become a "gallery supporter" member you have to have at least 100 posts and then go to the groups and get joined up with the gallery supporters.
If yer addicted like the rest of us 100 posts won't be too hard to achieve.
Happy posting hun.

Actually I think moonlightschild might be referring to the feature where you need to be a Gallery Supporter Member to view those files.

"View Uncommented" is simply a list of cake photos that nobody has commented on yet - it's still all the same pics that are up in the gallery. It's my understanding that they created that subcategory so that people who are GSM's can have quick access to uncommented pics and take a few minutes of their day to add comments to underviewed pic's - it always make people feel better to have a nice or helpful comment on their cakes. You need to have at least 100 posts to join the GSM group; the idea is that these are CC'ers who are very active here and commit to helping out on a regular basis.

Welcome to CC by the way, and hope this helps!

By the way there is some great info about CC in the General thread, check out the stickies at the top of the page:

OMG, I'm so excited. It pays to read the directions. icon_eek.gif I never knew you had to give people permission to comment on your cakes. Okay, I'm a hobby baker, and don't expect glowing raves about my cakes, but I was getting kind of down about not having even one comment. Yea, I'm going back and reading the instructions.

You can become a "Gallery Supporter" and you can view the uncommented. We started this about a year ago because there were several members that were writing in the forums about not having comments on their photos. It is very easy to miss photos especially during high traffic times here on Cake Central. I have missed sooooooo many so I go into "uncommented" and check them all out. There are some really really beautiful cakes here on CC and we don't want to miss any of them.

Welcome to Cake Central. We hope you will find it very addicting here!!! We're just one big happy decorating family!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

I have been wondering the same thing...do you have to donate to CC in order to be a gallery support member ( I wonder because if the name)? If not once I have 100 posts I would love to join I know that good that first comment feels (I am 14 so I don't really have money to donate).

Oh goodness no, you don't have to donate to become a GSM!! Just click on the words Gallery Supporter Member under someone's name (like Cakemommy above) to get more info.

I myself would join but since I don't log in every day (hmm well that is not true lately, lol) I didn't want to commit to commenting on pics on a regular basis if I am not able to keep my end of the bargain.
