Decorating By TiffTurtle Updated 26 Oct 2006 , 11:19pm by Rooh
I have made chocolate buttercream only twice and i have HATED it each time it always taste like cocoa powder...i want my buttercream to taste like chocolate...does that make sense? i was wondering if any one could offer me any suggestions... thanks bunches
I made some very good choc BC-esque icing...the recipe called for making choc ganache and then when that was cool, it was beaten up with butter and cream cheese..it tasted awesome!!!!...a little tricky to smooth but it was so dark and chocolatey..
If you want the recipe give me a shout..
It came from the cookbook Eat Shrink and be Merry (the only high fat recipe in the book...because you only live once..hahaha)
I love this recipe. If you haven't tried it. it's the only one I make now.

I am right there with you. I hated the powdery, gritty taste and texture that adding the coco powder gave me..... I talked to my cake store supply lady and she told me to try adding a can of already made choc icing to my regular BC. It worked great!!! Was a big hit with everyone.
