Hello,,,,,,hello........

I have a question,,,,I have to do a cake for Friday and the requestor told me to make sure I put a "star" ontop of the cake.....I did ask if it was to be a star to eat or look at....Of course, the answer was to eat the star...

I have been looking in my books, etc.....and on here but can't seem to find any ideas to make a star....

Does anyone have a pattern I could borrow or ideas? This requestor is also a hairdresser and I am going to do a blowdryer and scissors...but I "have to make sure I place a star". I am going to use Fondant for the figures.....

Thanks.....will check back later.......

I am a newbie, so I probably am way over my head here, but I would use a decorated sugar cookie.

That's a very odd request if it's going to have hairdressing type things on it. I think I would talk to her again and have her be a little more clear as to what she wants or she may be disappointed. If it is to stand on top, a sugar cookie, or chocolate transfer would be great.

How about drizzling molding chocolate into the shape of a star like filagree...kind of lacy or sotas style piece.

Since they want it to be edible, I would have to agree with aboelkens and do a fancy sugar cookie. Otherwise, I would look into colorflow.

You could make a chocolate transfer star and put her name or the name of her business on it. That way you could lay it down or do 2 stars and attach them back to back with a stick or small dowel between them and stand it up. Do like a walk of fame star like the actors have. You know where they get a star with their name in it on the sidewalk.

Hello again.....

Thank you to those who replied.....you gave me some great ideas....but I think I am going to try this.....

Since I was looking at my Fondant, edible supplies and stuff,, I still have some Rice Krispie Treats,,,,so, I'm thinking of using the medium size star cutter,, and a smaller size star cutter,, cut the shapes, then use some fondant as a topper and print her name ontop and then stand it on a small lollipop stick and into the cake....
I did double check with the requester, and she still wants a "star" to eat with the cake......okie dokie,,,,,, I told her.....
I will post a pic when I get the whole thing done...

THanks again......
