i dont' use a flower nail for any cake.

i do use 2. my oven's a piece of crap and the temp sort of waivers.

I will for sure if it's chocolate and I will, if I remember, for other flavors. My chocolate cakes just seem to stay gooey in the middle longer than other cakes. So I end up with a cake with a sunk middle or a cake that's way smaller than I intended because I've had to trim the crunchy edges.

me neither icon_smile.gif i even baked a cake in a metal bowl the other day and i didnt use one..i guess it depends on your oven or your batter

I always do. I actually use 2 and I never have to level and I dont tort because mine would fall apart!

The only time I have used a flower nail is in a large 14 x 14 and haven't used one since....I sometimes think the flower nails tend to over cook the inside icon_sad.gif
