Well, I've looked at your cakes and they are wonderful! And, I'm adding a couple to my faves. I was so glad to read your post....I've certainly felt that way too! I've had one cake make it to the middle row, and I was definitely thrilled. I would be ecstatic to see one in the top row. But, I just look at it as a goal for which to keep striving. Some day I will make that cake that impresses others that much -- I hope!

I had to chuckle when I read this thread. I figured I was like you and would never get to even the middle row because when I have time to be on the computer to upload they rarely stay on the bottom row for more than a minute or two because it is usually a busy upload time. Then one day I logged on before work and uploaded a triple chocolate cake with cake truffles (balls) on top. When I logged on that evening it was in the middle row . I almost fell off my chair. But oh did it feel good. You will make it one day when you least expect it.
LOL I think you and everyone else feels that way. I make something that I am TOTALLY proud of and think..." this time, this one will make it. People will like this one!" I get back on later that night or the next day and I have 40 views and no comments, maybe if I am lucky 1 save. So you are not alone in your hopes. But there are lots of us on here and not everyone sees all of the "good stuff", like OUR creations, LOL (j/k). I know that I miss a lot of great cakes & cookies and don't have the time to look through everything that is uploaded everyday. I try to hit the cookie gallery every day, but don't always get there. When I do I don't always comment and add them to my favs either.

This is such a funny topic because I have my mom and my sister addicted to this site now too. They don't do cakes thats my job but they love to log on and see whats new. Anyways, the day that my candyland cake and my popcorn cake made it to the middle row my phone was ringing off the hook. You would have thought I made it on the national news or something. My family was sooo happy for me. I just had to chuckle. Don't get me wrong I was super excited but I'm still holding out for the all important "TOP" row!

I have had that happen also. You think a cake is really good and poooof! nothing. Thanks for everyones support. It was just something I had to get out and my outside of cake world friends would just look at me like I was crazy. I'm not giving up and any of those that share my dreams shouldn't either.

I think it is more like 50 saves for the popular top row. I am not certain, but I think it is less than 100 anyway. If you guys want some of your cakes to be noticed again, put them in the under noticed cakes link.

I am not sure how you get to the top row ... I have had my snowflake cake up there one time (that I know of) and it has over two hundred favorites .. I am not saying this to be mean, snotty, rude, or want a pity party but there are a LOT of cakes that tend to repeat themselves over and over and over again on the top row .. I think someone on this thread said it best when they said depending on how popular a person is can play a factor too unfortunately ...
