Do you think I can go to my local wal mart and have them print me up and edible saying? Not a picture of anything and I don't have anything scanned for them to use .. I would just like a small edible phrase that says congratulations on your new home ... Is this possible and has anyone ever done it?

I go to the local Shaws/Star market and they do it. They charge $7 a sheet.

Good Luck

I'm pretty sure they will, do it on your computer and and take the print out with you, I don't think you will have any problem. I've done it in HEB (Local food chain).

I don't know if Wal-mart will or not. I tried to buy some boxes and was told flat out by the manager they do not sell ANY kind of boxes, frostings, mixes, on and on.. I have the feeling she got the question before!

I wouldn't think Wal-mart would have edible ink and paper. Oh wait, do you have a Wal-mart with a grocery store? I guess they would have the supplies. I don't see why they wouldn't do it for you.

I've not gone to Wal Mart but I have printed off my computer what I wanted and went to Kroger and they printed it with no problems -- cost me $6 a sheet. If you want color, make sure you print it out in color.

Tina_ Mace, does Kroger do Pictures too. I get charged 10 dollars for edible transger at the cake shop. Krogers is two minutes away. I'd go there instead for sure! icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks,
Kat

thank you everyone, I did end up going to wal mart but I had no idea you had to print something out here at home first .. I thought you could just tell them what you wanted ... not a complete wasted trip I bought some stuff I needed .. I will go back later with my print out, and thanks for answering my unasked question Tina_Mace .. I didn't know if I had to print it in color or if they did! Thanks again everyone!

hi all,am new to the forum. well actually a stalker. been reading a long time and learning. i'm a walmart decorator. all we can do is scan an image we dont have a computer to touch things up or make up things. we do scan and print what you bring in as long as it is not copyrighted.
also we are not allowed to sell boxes or icing. i guess because sam's club does. i really wish we did. well maybe this will help someone next time.

I took a logo that I needed for a cake and they printed it out for me. I have also used a picture of my daughter as a year-old and her senior picture and they printed that out for me, no problem.

That's how my grocery store does it as well. they don't have a computer, just a scanner and a printer, so they want you to bring in what they can scan. I don't think mine will do any type of logo though, bummer.

Lancaster, PA?? I was just up in Marietta in July visiting my 91 year old grandmother. I love it up there.

Everytime I've tried to get an immage scanned at a store, it comes out too faint! icon_cry.gif Yet the sample cake in the stores are nice and bold. this is not exlusive of one store: I have been to many stores in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Lake Worthless (I mean Lake Worth), etc. I don't get it? Those of you who have edible immage printers, can you tell me what I can do short of getting my own printer??? Is it just because I am in SoFla?

I went to Wal Mart last year for an edible image. They charge $5 per sheet. I took my image printed for them to scan and even my own frosting sheets. Their ink was running out so I ended up going to the grocery store down the street for it. The woman there had to try a few sheets before she got the size right and gave me the goof ups. I came out good on it if I do more 50th anniversary cakes. Not sure that helped anyone......................LOL

Thank you for this information. I wasn't sure what I would need to have in order to get an edible image. I learn something new everyday here. Thanks!
