Hey ya all,
I have a friend who also enjoys at home baking and she said she made cats tongue cookies and she wasn't sure how they were supposed to taste or if the sugar was to be granulated or powdered (icing). She asked me and I had no freaking idea. Has anyone got a good recie or has anyone even heard of them?

Thank you

Leigh

This was the first thing that popped up on a google search. http://www.restaurantwidow.com/2005/05/cats_tongues.html

I had never heard of them either.

Hope this helps,

Holly

Hi,

We have these in UK and they are called by their French name langue du chat. They are very buttery, crisp, thin biscuits in an elongated oval shape. They sort of melt in the mouth.

Hope that helps! icon_smile.gif

Do you serve them with anything ie. icecream or anything? Melt in the mouth sounds divine. mmmm thanks for that Tania.

Hi Leigh,

Yes they are usually served with ice cream or mousse, a bit of crunch with something soft!

These are my husband's favorites - but I sandwich them with some ganache - yum.

OMG that sounds soooo yummy. Must try some now.
Could you sandwich them with BC and add chocolate on top?? Would nuts in the BC taste nice with the cats tongues?

I was just thinking after I read the recipe and saw a picture, they sound like those Milanos from Pepridge Farm. And then of course thought chocolate would be good! Though it is my humble opinion that chocolate is good on most EVERYTHING! icon_razz.gif

They remind me of Ladyfingers that you use in Tiramisu. Atleast that is what they look like!
