Hi I'm Erin, I'm new.

So all my craft stores only carry Wilton stuff, and it's lovely but I'm sure there is a whole bunch of other stuff out there that I need to know about. Where do I find this other stuff? I mean surely Wilton doesn't really have a monopoly on cake decorating?

Oh and if you search "Wilton Alternative" on google you get strange stuff that's not cake-ish at all. icon_sad.gif

Thanks for you help.

If this has been addressed I DID look but didn't find it so sorry to bring it up again. icon_smile.gif

MANY diffrent brands out there but depends on what you are looking for. Wilton pretty much has it in shapped pans and tips(execpt pem) but that is about all they do. Americolors are the food coloring I think most people use. I use Magic Line pans. satin ice fondant. pem flower colors and tips.

Global Sugar Art is a good place to browse and shop for cake decorating toys. Here's a link to them: http://www.globalsugarart.com/

also don't be afraid to think outside the box. Things like stencils, playdough toys, etc can be used for cake decorating as well. As far as dusts, colors, etc I find that the cake central store has some really great stuff on it for really reasonable prices, plus they are fast and trustworthy.......*don't buy from sugarcraft though if you are doing a search for cake items.....just a general warning for you*

Hi Erin and welcome to CC!

There are many great sites to browse for baking and decorating "toys". I like www.cakesbysam.com and I recently ordered from
www.cakedeco.com and they were fast and very nice to deal with.

Edited to add www.countrykitchensa.com

Hi and welcome!!!
I personally love globalsugarart.com and intotheoven.com, both have the BEST customer service! Also for Americolor and luster/pearl dust here, CC has the best prices and also awesome service and fast shipping! Now, in the area, on Blanding Blvd and 103rd, there is plaza on the left hand (coming form Argyle), there is cake store there, called create a cake, they have really good stuff and great prices as well (createacakeshop.com) HTH!! Oh yeah, I'm in JAX too!
