I'm a newbie, so sorry if this has been asked before!

I love working with fondant, but am having a hard time finding flexible molds. Does anyone know if normal candy molds will work as well? Any tips?

Thank you![/b]

I have, but it was hard. I ended up having to smash in more than was needed and making a little "neck" on the back to grab it from the mold. Then I had to trim the neck down for drying. Then would have had to sanded the back down to make it stick flat... I quit before I got to that point though and just used candy melts for those darned golf balls... icon_rolleyes.gif

If you put it in the freezer for little bit it will pop out.

I have not used candy molds, but I did use clay flexible molds and they worked great. I coated them with Crisco and then pressed the fondant in. They are the fish and dolphins on my Ariel cake. I had a blast making them.

Good luck.

I used fondant in candy molds and it came out fine. I put them in the fridge for a while to firm up a little and they came out ok. I had to smooth out the edges a bit when they came out of the mold. I dusted them with gold dust before putting them on the cake and they came out pretty.

I would use a combo to corn starch and powder or icing sugar 1/2 and 1/2 lightly dusted on the mold before pressin in the fondant.

I love mold!

Good Luck.

I found I have to use a ton of corn starch in the mold first but when I do they work great. (I just tap out the excess first before filling with fondant)
