I'm in the middle of making the chocolate version of the WASC cake. I just realized that I added 8 whole eggs instead of the 6 called for in the recipe. aaarrrrggghhh!!!! This is the first time I have made this cake, so I don't have any idea how it will be affected. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions as to what to do? icon_cry.gif

It should be fine and taste fine - it will just probably be a little poufy. But I don't think it will hurt the cake at all. I've added an extra egg several times by mistake on a single recipe mix and never could tell the difference -- (I was making the cake from memory and didn't consult my recipe!!). So if you are making the regular WASC cake that actually uses 2 mixes then you should be fine.

Unless I need my WASC to be very white, I use whole eggs. It comes out rich and delicious. Don't panic. It shoud be fine!

Thanks for the support everyone! It looked perfect after baking. I had enough batter to make a few cupcakes for tasting purposes. Although the cupcakes had a larger crumb than I thought they should have, they tasted fine. On the other hand, my husband thought they tasted a little like undercooked flour but otherwise OK. Go figure! Thanks again!
