If I could open a business of my own I would open a chain of drive thrus that only sold milk, eggs and bread.
I waste so much time going out for just these things that it makes me nuts.

Who am I kidding, in my town the Savemart goes to court when ever vons or albertson's even inquires about buying land for a store. They'll never let me get my little venture off the ground.

Too bad, could have been a great service and make me a millionaire too. icon_razz.gificon_razz.gif

What buisness ( besides cakes/desserts) would you guys open that would be a sure hit?

Brilliant idea. And also a slice of pizza.

There is a drive thru party store not far from us. It is the greatest thing - especially when I have my son in the car with me. You literally drive through the store - it is not a window. It pretty much is like a drive through car wash except the walls are lined with things you'd find in a regular party store. You drive in, give your "order", you pay out your window and they bring you what you purchased. I never saw one until we moved where we are now but my husband grew up with one near his house. He couldn't believe I had never been to one before.

They have the usual party store stuff and I think you can get eggs, milk and bread. Not sure about the wipes, diapers or fem. products though!

add powdered sugar...that'd be great. Seems I'm ALWAYS running to the store for milk, eggs, bread, and usually after I have everything in the mixer to make buttercream......UGH...back for powdered sugar!!

Actually, in my hometown of Richmond IN, there is such a business. You drive up to the door and the guy comes out to your car to see what you need. He goes in, gets what you need and collects your money. Milk, bread, ice cream, bread, a small inventory of grocery items (including diapers!). It is AWESOME and I REALLY wish there was such a thing in Indy!

When I was a kid, they would have bread ... 20 loaves for $1. With 6 kids in the house, we'd stock up!

icon_lol.gif There's a store like that in this area too, but it's in a scary neighborhood, so I wouldn't go. Wish there was one by me!!

I'd love to have a coffe/tea room - one that encourages sitting and reading a lot - it would be fun to run with my husband - he's a coffee snob, and I love tea - okay, it would include great desserts, but the part about sitting around sipping and reading sounds lovely.

I like the sipping and reading idea-- tea, coffee, hot chocolate, mocha . . . and how about shortening to add to the previous list of things in the drive-thru store.
