Are the edges on the metal in the cutter making kit as sharp as if I cut my own strip from metal flashing? I just don't want my obituary to read - "Died from a cookie cutter injury." Thanks for any advice.

The metals that come with the kit are not nearly as sharp as the ones you cut yourself.

A metal shop may be able to sell you strips, even copper, that are not as sharp. I also thought of asking if they can turn one edge, but I haven't gotten to it yet.

Don't know, but here's a bump.

I bought the kit that is from Foose (I think) and it's not sharp, but the edge where you have to cut it to length will be kinda sharp. Flatten out with a pair of pliers and you should be fine. After using my homemade cutter on 378 cookies (used it for the cookies as well as the fondant) my hand was sore from pushing on it, but that could just be because I did it so many gosh darn times over the course of 3 days. icon_smile.gif
