As if I didn't admire all of you talented decorators before today,I have a new found respect for everyone who makes fondant. I just made MMF for the first time icon_cry.gif (and I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon).
thumbsdown.gif . That stuff almost killed my new KA icon_mad.gif !! And the clean up,OMG!
That should be the next tutorial"How to clean up your kitchen after making MMF". That bucket of Satin Ice is looking really good right about now LOL icon_biggrin.gif. You all are so amazing to do this stuff day in and day out.

Got this recipe which is easy to do :
16 oz white mini marshmallows
2 to 5 tablespoons water
2 pounds icing sugar
1/2 cup Crisco shortening

Put marshmallows and 2 tablespoons of water in a microwave proof bowl and microwave for about 30 seconds. Stir and microwave for another 30 seconds. Repeat till all marshmallows melted. Takes about 2 minutes.Place 3/4 of the icing sugar into the bowl with melted m/mallows mix. Grease hands generously, palms, back of hands and between fingers and heavily grease counertop. Dump the bowl of m/mallow and icing sugar into the middle and start kneading like you would bread dough. Keep kneading, it is really sticky at this stage and add the rest of the icing sugar and knead some more. Re-grease hands and counter of mixture is sticking. If mixture tears too easily, it is too dry so add 1/2 tablespoon water at a time and knead it in. Usually takes about 8 minutes to get a firm smooth elastic ball of MMf. Best if you can let it sit, double wrapped, overnight. However, can be used right away if there are not bits of dry icing sugar. If there are, add a few drops of water and knead some more.
For storing - coat with a good coat of Crisco and wrap in plastic and put into zip-lock bag. Squeeze out as much air as possible.

Give it a try and let your KA have a rest. icon_lol.gif

I never use my mixer for MMF. It is really easy to do by hand and there is less clean up since your appliances don't get dirty!
