I am making a stacked cake for a wedding on Nov. 18. How do I keep the cake on top from pulling the the icing off the cake it is sitting on? I will be using cake circles in between cakes.
This is my first wedding cake, and I will be making a "practice" one very, very soon.

If anyone can give me any advice, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Put a dusting of powdered sugar between the cake below and the cake circle. Works for me every time, of course I've only make two like that though.

you can also put a piece of wax or parchment paper between the cake board & the lower tier.

I wouldn't recommend nuts because of all of the allergies (especially for an event such as a wedding). You can also cut a fondant circle slightly smaller than the cake going on top. Then when the cake is cut, it can be served or peeled off.
