Maybe a cake with a checker patter going across it. A plaid jacket, a pair of sandles with socks in them, a copy of Miami Vice, an afro wig and a disco ball.

When you say "bad taste" (I know you're not talking about your cake! tapedshut.gif - icon_lol.gif ), but do you mean it the way reenie has interpreted it or as in, let's say for example, fart jokes?

What type of bad taste...like in dress, or decor, or manner? How about a big sofa or easy chair (in a very ugly print) with a bucket of beer next to it, and a remote?

This sounds fun. If you mean bad taste, as in raunchy humor...I saw a toilet cake once that was over the top. You can put beer cans on the side of it, or girlie magazines. Search "toilet" and look at all the cakes. Or, how about a female bosom...with the guy's face in between?

Thanks fellow CC's you've been a great help.
The "Bad Taste" theme must be more of an Aussie thing - It's a combinations of all that you have suggested - "poking fun at things" - like serving drinks that are called "Cockroach Cocktails" - clothes things as well - 80's fashion with the Farrah Fawcett hair or the "mullets" (not sure if they feature much in US - Short hair to the ears with the long straggly bit at the back - for guys that is!! went out years ago but we still have a few Aussie cricketers that continue to wear their hair this way.

Actually cake is for my nephew - and I am thinking about trying to do the toilet cake - got instructions emailed from somebody who had made a few of them - they are in the GROSS section - and that they are!!

Wording might be along the lines of ..

"Yes, Daniel - It's your birthday! - and we do give a SH@#$$T !"
Complete with little floaters - though I am not familiar with the "tootsie rolls" - guess it is a type of confectionery - will look for a suitable substitute

Once again - MANY, thanks!! LOVE this site!!

try chocolate rolled fondant or chocolate buttercream.
