I made some cupcakes yesterday with my lovely four year old assistant. She found it difficult to get just the right amount into each cup and became frustrated having to scoop over and over again with a spoon just to fill one cup. I reached into the "miscellaneous utensil drawer" and pulled out a standard sized ice cream scoop for her to try.... it worked perfectly.... exactly one scoop per regular sized cupcake paper and the batter filled 24 cupcakes evenly! My daughter looked at me when we were done and said, "Mommy, you're so smart!" It's these little moments that make me want to keep on baking!
I have added a picture of the cupcakes that she helped me bake. This is my first attempt at roses and also my first cupcake boquet! We had so much fun and ended up showing off our arrangement at my babyshower this afternoon..... I used pink and blue roses since this baby will be a suprise.. due in 5 weeks! Thanks for looking!
Thanks for all of your help and support! Happy Cupcakes! Dana ![]()
Very good job! They turned out lovely and what a great idea!
I always love it when my 4 yr old makes some great comments. My favorite is when she tells me I'm good at being a mommy.
But that's not it, she ALWAYS compliments my cakes, cookies etc, even when they are still works in progress...from the mouths of babes.
Good luck on your new addition!
They are very pretty! I use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop mine and scrape with a rubber spatula. The ice cream scoop I have isnt big enough.
Good luck and congratulations with the new addition! Baby's are wonderful, I just had my first grandchild.
I cannot get batter into the cups neatly to save my life...I am super messy. I bought a pancake batter dispenser and it works wonderfully for me. But it doesnt work with a thick batter. Batter right from a cake mix works great though!
