not sure why you would need to. If they dirty, I just soak them in the kitchen sink for a bit, then hand wash.

Thanks - I wasn't sure if I could wash them at all. The instructions that came with them said if stained do not use.

Thanks Again!

Are you supposed to wet them before using them? I've got a big dome on one of my favorite recipes that I am trying to fix.

Yes. I soak mine in ice cold water while I am getting everything out and mixing the batter up. Then I just lightly ring them out and place on the pan.

I put mine in a bowl 1st in luke warm water and let them set while Im mixing up the cake. I do not wring mine out at all, I put them around my cake dripping wet. They work great. If my pan is big I put 2 together. I also use big T pins from Wal-Mart to hold them together. Sandy

No the ones that are black with two silver "handels" that bend backwards to open.

I actally though of that by accident. I had lost the little T pen that goes with it and was searching for something to use and saw that sitting in my junk drawer.

I put my in the dishwasher along with my bags. I think that is makes them a little more sanitary to do so. Not that you eat them!

Great idea with the clips! I NEVER would have thought of that!

I love the bake even strips. I soak in very cold water, wring out and then onto the pan they go. I've never thought of using the "grashopper" clips as we call them at work, but I can't wait to try. It has to be easier than the reguarl straing pins I use that I run under my fingernail ever time I bake. Thanks for the tips!

I am glad you asked that question i forgot to read that part when i purchased mine.

Here is a little tip in case any of you do like i do and forget to put them on before i fill the cake pan.

I pin them around the cake pan before i soak them then i can just slide it up on to the cake pan when i am ready to.

You can make your own strips by ripping a towel up into strips. Then you get some foil and wet paper towels. Wrap the wet paper towels inside the foil then wrap the foil inside of the towel. Use the pins to secure.
