Like this one Image very cleverly made by allycook. Fondant, gumpaste, Buttercream... I'm not sure! In the only two cakes I have ever made I used ready to roll fondant from the supermarket... what would you guys suggest!? Thanks!

definitely fondant! With buttercream will need some considerable skill. HTH.

I would use the MMF recipe from CC. It's much less expensive than buying the fondant.

Good Luck.

I would also suggest picking up some gumpaste powder to make the accessories. You can either make them only in gumpaste or you can mix it 1/2 and 1/2 gumpaste and fondant. It will hold up better than fondant (MFF) alone.
I have been adding flavoring like bubblegum to my fondant and gumpaste and everyone loves it. They eat it.

gateaux. Here in NZ we have a similar site to ebay, and several traders are selling wilton stuff. I have bought gum traganath (sp?) to mix into my fondant as according to the seller that will make it set really well icon_smile.gif Will use gumpaste in the future though!
