I just bought a tube of "clear fruit glaze filling". It was in the same section as the raspberry and strawberry filling that I use in cake...but it's like a clear gel. It seems runnier than the normal gel by Wilton but I can't tell for sure since it's unopened yet.

What do I do with this? Maybe use it instead of a crumb coating? It seems like it would be sticky though.

Maybe mix a flavoring in it?

Any ideas?

You can mix it in with some rich's bettercreme or some regular buttercream. I use the lemon one with buttercream and some additional lemon flavoring and a couple of drops of yellow food coloring for a "lemon creme" filling. You can do the same with any flavor. Hope that helps some! icon_biggrin.gif

Clear fruit glaze is a topping. Usually a little fruit flavored by the juice that is used to make it.

It's the stuff that is brushed on top of Mini Fruit Pies to make them pop and look really appetizing.

I use it to top fruit pizza. It's meant to keep everything most so I doubt you could use it as a crumb coat, as it will not really stick.

Good Luck.

Corrected to say crumb coat instead of whatever it was.... new keaboard -- still looking for the ke\\ys.... there they go again!
