I don't know if you all have seen this before but I was watching "I Want That!" on HGTV today and they showed this mold for making ice cream cone cupcakes. It's a bit pricey (Williams-Sonoma) and only makes 6 cupcakes at a time.

I was watching something on Food Network at the same time. They showed confetti cakes and it was quite interesting. They showed simple tools and said with these tools you can make a cake like this! I just chuckled because she is an incredible cake designer and it is not just the tools!
" I WANT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
that is very cool.. i think its an awesome idea! gives such a nice flare to cupcakes, other then the original cupcake molds theres not much out there!
great find... now i gotta figure out some way to get 1!!!
I have the cupcake mold from williams-sonoma not such a great buy. They come out top heavy.
Too bad they don't bake well, that would be fun to make! Janice
Thanks for the information.
I bought a book the other day "Australian Womens Weekly Cupcakes" and they had ice cream cone cupcakes where they basically took ice cream cones (they used waffle cones) and trimmed to cupcakes to look like a ball and iced them and put them in the cones. They looked pretty cool and would only cost the price of the cone and cake (and the hassle of trimming the cakes) would also have to have a way of getting them to stand up (they had them in one of those stands with the holes like they have at the ice cream shops)
Looks like a good idea, but how would they stay fresh? With cupcakes, you have the paper, but these are exposed cake......
See how wonderful this place is! I was like I WANT THAT... but glad to have input before spending the $$ for it!!!
I have the one from Williams Sonoma and I like it. It does make a very large dense cone but once you swirl the icing on it looks so cute. I just cute circles out of a box top and served them like that.
