My brother gets really crazy when he consumes anything with Red #40 in it. Are there any food colorings that haven't that in it? Did you know Wiltons blue coloring has Red 40 in it? Yep. So in order to make cakes that Alexander can eat it has to white as purple is red and blue, orange is yellow and red, green is blue and yellow. Yellow is the only color without red 40 in it.(last I checked anyway.) So........I'm kinda in a here. ![]()
Oh BTW anybody know what Red #40 Lake is??
Thanks a bunch!

P.S sorry I haven't been around much. Has been a busy time since I last posted. ![]()
You could probably contact the manufacturers directly for advice. I doubt most of us would take the risk in recommending a color to someone with a critical allergy.
There is a rep for Americolor who posts here, perhaps you can pm the moderator for help finding that person. Wilton also has a email address where you can send your product questions.

Try these colors. I bought 14 jars of the Crystal Colors at the convention and I was looking on them today. They list different colors in them on the top. Only 3 of the 14 I bought had Red40 listed.
Beth's husband blends all their colors so she can tell you which of them do have Red40 in them and which do not.
Hope this helps.
