I have been asked to do a small wedding cake. base layer 12", then 8" and topped with 6". The cake is cake-on-cake, very simple. All white with scroll work. Will it look off with the size difference? Should I recommend the center layer be 9". (I do not have that size pan, but could get one).

Thanks for your help.

Here's a pic of one I did that is 12/8/6 (first pic on the page) and I don't like it. It may have looked better if maybe the borders were a bit more "petite". I'd go with the 9" if you can.

Indydedi,

Thanks, that showed me what I needed to see. I will go with 9". As always you have just the right answer icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks again,

I would be tempted to suggest a 10". I have a few of them because I use them so much. The 8" top tier would give you a good base for the topper or flowers. Just a suggestion.
