Need Help With Homemade Angel Food Cake Please
Decorating By DiscoLady Updated 16 Oct 2006 , 6:31am by alimonkey
I found a recipe for an angel food cake that got great reviews (never made one b4). All the recipes call for a tube pan (don't own one) and then inverting it over a bottle when it cools. Is it possible to bake this type of cake in regular cake pans?
Thanks in advance for your incredible knowledge ![]()
Do you have a bundt pan? You need a taller pan so the cake will rise properly. If you use a 2 inch pan the cake will not come out right. When you get a chance pick up a tube pan, they make a beautiful angel food cake. they also make a good pound cake.
Thanks ladies. I have a bundt pan, but she wants a golf themed cake with a strawberry filling. It's for her husband and he is insisting on a lowfat cake. Geez...you only have a birthday once a year live a little!
I don't know what to do...any suggestions?
Split your cake in half and put in the filling. I guess you could use the lite whipped icing to cover the cake. Where the hole is, maybe put something in the middle that will come up enough for you to put a golfer on.. Since you only have a bundt pan, it might be a little tougher because the pan is more rounded and ridged as opposed to a tube pan., which has a flat top. Maybe you could make some golf accessories to lay around the board and the cake.
